Clients + partnerships

My clients use strategic content to build their businesses.

My clients are smart, experienced, capable, and mission-driven — and they want these qualities to come across in their content.

They’ve been in business for years and want to communicate how they help, what makes them different, and how they think about their industry in ways that make them stand out from everyone else.

They also give me access. They let me into their video calls, internal meetings, client meetings, brainstorming sessions, content archives, and, really, their brains. From there, I translate their unique brand into compelling assets and thought leadership that works for buyers and AI-powered search.

I value and treasure the trust that they place in me.

It makes our conversations incredibly productive, and it enables me to better write and refresh your content, thought leadership, and campaigns. I typically work with clients for many years, often for a decade or more.

Q: How does your experience benefit new clients?

You save time.

Having worked across industries and inside organizations of all types and sizes, I’m a quick study. My discovery process is efficient and focused — it zeroes in on what matters most to your prospects, along with the colorful details that make you stand out.

You can expect quality that’s on-brand from the first draft.

Your brand has a voice, and I will learn it. Even if you don’t have formal writers’ guidelines, I’ll figure it out during the discovery as I’ve done for so many clients over the years.

If you want me to help refine your voice to align with updated goals, I can do that, too.

You have a partner in messaging big asks.

Most of the content I’ve written is for clients that sell expensive B2B services with long sales cycles. Moving high-value prospects through the pipeline takes strategic insight, lots of content, and nuanced messaging, especially when you’re speaking to multiple people with different priorities on the same buying committee. I focus on helping each one see the value in what you’re selling so they take the next step in your conversation more quickly and enthusiastically.

You get a writer who’s battle-tested.

I’ve written for many clients whose clients are hard to impress, so they expect a lot when I’m added to the account team. I like to work with agencies and PR firms — there’s a lot of energy, enterprise-level clients, and (usually) a super-high bar because a lot of money and multiple levels of reputations are on the line. They count on me to deliver writing that makes everyone look good and helps them achieve their goals so the cycle can continue.

Through agencies, I’ve been fortunate to write for some of the most successful enterprises in the country and learn a lot from them in the process.

You get more than a strategic content writer.

You get a sounding board. I’ve spent decades helping organizations uncover what sets them apart and how to communicate it effectively, so I can be useful when you’re thinking through ideas and planning content. As we discuss your assets and how they fit into your content hub, we can also bounce around ideas for offers and campaigns, how tailored messaging for personas and “jobs to be done” can shorten the sales cycle, and what I’ve seen work (and not work) in similar situations.

“Nikki joined our group of green startups one afternoon for a workshop on ‘How To Make Your Website Work For You,’ and her sharing of her expertise made this a very successful event. Our entrepreneurs really appreciated learning from an expert who obviously was speaking from much experience “in the trenches” and was able to answer their questions with concrete, practical advice.

Nikki was not just giving us recipes to follow but demonstrated how, and why, the message can be crafted so that our web presence brings results. Many thanks, Nikki!”
